“It is a passion that transformed the way I see art—and even the way I see myself…”

About the Artist

I discovered acrylic pour painting in December 2023 after stumbling upon a YouTube video, and true to my curious, all-in nature, I dove headfirst into the art form. While I’ve always enjoyed drawing—often creating Disney-inspired lunch bag illustrations for my children—pour painting offered me a new creative outlet that embraces spontaneity and flow.

Living with hand tremors has shifted the way I create, but rather than limiting me, it has made pour painting the perfect medium. The natural movement of my hands complements the fluidity of the paints, often resulting in organic patterns reminiscent of oceans, sandbars, and natural landscapes. Over time, I’ve developed a passion for experimenting with color combinations, paint viscosities, and even unconventional surfaces—such as plant watering stakes—proving that inspiration can be found anywhere.

For me, this art form is equal parts relaxation and discovery. It’s a hands-on, tactile process that can be as messy as it is rewarding. No two pieces are ever alike, and I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of happy accidents. Unlike many professional pour artists online, I’ve also found creative ways to use every bit of paint, minimizing waste while still producing multiple unique works from a single batch.

I currently reside in Columbus, Ohio, where I enjoy life as a retired major airline pilot. When I’m not painting, you’ll often find me traveling, snow skiing, boating, golfing, or volunteering at the local food bank. Pour painting continues to be a journey of learning, experimentation, and joy—one where I get to share my love of color, movement, and creation with others.
